Meet Villa Fjaka

Villa Fjaka is the embodiment of slow living and a gateway to discover the beauty of nature around. The house was designed for guests yearning for a break with routine, those seeking the time to stop and reconnect with themselves and those closest to them.

Nestled among olive trees and with terraces with uninterrupted views to the Adriatic Sea, Villa Fjaka means as much to Zrinka & Steve, the owners, as it does to the guests who’ve stayed there. The London-based couple have poured their heart and soul into ensuring that every element of Villa Fjaka is thought through and personal.

Fjaka

locally known as: fe-ya-ka

is a way of life in Dalmatia and is something that cannot be learned, rather you fall into the mode of fjaka naturally while in Dalmatia. According to some Dalmatians, the definition of fjaka is the state of absolute and utter relaxation.

“There is something very historical, poetic about the place. It makes you realise how small we are in all of this.”

Getting there: Pag, Croatia

Pag is located only a brief 45-minute drive from its closest airport, Zadar which connects the island to almost every European capital.

If you’re flying transcontinental, your flight will probably connect through the country’s capital, Zagreb, where you have the choice to either fly to Zadar or drive to Villa Fjaka, a trip just under 4 hours. Either option is convenient thanks to Pag’s connection with the mainland by a bridge.
